Election Timelines
The election provides you with an opportunity to actively participate in the regulation of your profession in Ontario.
Elections must be called in the month of June for:
Districts up for Election in 2022
District 1 (Toronto), District 2 (South West) for Chiropodists.
District 1 & 2 (Combined District 1) for Podiatrists.
At least ninety days before the date of an election or by-election, the Registrar shall notify in writing each member who is then eligible to vote in that election….the date of the election, the nomination procedure and the deadline for returning nominations to the College.
There are 210 chiropodist members in District 1, with 48 chiropodist members in District 2.
There are 29 podiatrist members in Combined District 1.
June 8, 2022
Nomination information emailed to all current members in selected district.
July 8, 2022
Nominations deadline – all forms must be completed and submitted to the College
(The nomination of a candidate for election shall be in writing, be received by the Registrar at least sixty days before the date of the election)
July 23, 2022
Candidates must complete and submit to the College’s conflict of interest form.
(The Registrar shall establish a deadline by which each candidate shall complete and file the College’s conflict of interest form which deadline shall not be less than fifteen days after the date upon which nominations close.)
July 25, 2022
Deadline for candidates to withdraw from the election.
(A candidate may withdraw from an election by giving notice in writing to the Registrar. If the notice in writing is received at least forty-eight days prior to the date of the election)
August 7, 2022
Voting Guide, ballots and biographical sketches emailed to all members eligible to vote

Election Day. Ballots tallied by individuals and/or scrutineers.

Election results announced by Registrar to candidates

Deadline for receipt of emailed request for a recount.
(An eligible candidate may require a recount by giving a written request to the Registrar no more than fifteen days after the date of an election and paying a fee of $300)
September 26, 2022
Election results are available to registrants upon request.
